Environmental Director

As an Environmental Director working in the Operational Support team at Pomerleau Construction, you will play a key role in supervising the team of environmental specialists assigned to the project located in Contrecoeur. Supporting large-scale building, civil engineering and infrastructure projects - ranging from $ million to over $1 billion - you will coordinate all environmental requirements in collaboration with the project management team and the customer.What You Will DoAct as an environmental contact for team, client and authorities.Manage and ensure compliance with project environmental requirements.Coordinate the implementation of environmental plans related to various aspects (fauna, flora, water, etc.).Communicate significant environmental risks for decision-making.Work with the project manager to allocate the necessary environmental resources.Obtain and track required environmental permits.Implement and certify an Environmental Management System (EMS) compliant with ISO 14001:2015.Supervise the environmental team, coordinate monitoring, and prepare reports required for Project compliance and recognition.This role could be for you if you haveA university degree in environment, biology, ecology, geography, environmental engineering or similar field.At least 15 years' experience in environmental management and in the development and implementation of EMS, including in the context of major projects in Canada.Experience in team coordination and supervision.Excellent knowledge of environmental regulatory frameworks (federal and provincial), particularly in the context of major waterworks.Good command of the environmental issues and impacts facing the construction industry.Fluency in both official languages written and oral (English and French).Additional Assets Include:Good knowledge of contaminated soil management.Envision Specialist designation.LEED certification.ISO 14001 lead auditor.ASP construction card.Why You Should ApplyFor the past four years, we've proudly held the distinction of being one of Canada's Top 100 Employers.
