SMAC specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math. We are in search of a virtual Chemical Engineer Instructor who has: 1 or more years of instructing experience in Chemical Engineering. Enthusiastic and professional in teaching. Ability to motivate students. Experience teaching online. Responsibilities: Create an innovative environment for students by preparing and executing activities that enhance students' knowledge of Chemical Engineering using concepts from the field and incorporating hands-on labs. Ensure the atmosphere is inclusive, welcoming, and safe for all children. Educate meaningful content to children between the ages of 7-17 years in a virtual environment. Provide weekly assessment reports on student progress and take attendance daily. Provide positive role modeling for child participants and volunteers, always being polite, helpful, and friendly. Create and conduct chemical engineering lessons using age-appropriate content. Qualifications: Knowledge of classroom management in an online setting. Ability to connect with students. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills. Exceptional leadership skills. Experience with chemical engineering labs, models, and virtual simulations. Requirements: Must have a recent Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance Check. Teaching background in chemical engineering with the ability to produce age-appropriate content. Display a foundational understanding of the relationships between technology, engineering, computer sciences, and other related academic fields. Ability to keep students engaged and focused in an online classroom setting. Previous online teaching experience is considered an asset. Access to a reliable internet connection and ability to use communication platforms such as Zoom. Who Should Apply? STEM Montessori Academy of Canada is seeking enthusiastic, engaging university students, club facilitators, instructors, or teachers with expertise in the subject areas for online programming. STEM Canada is seeking instructors for summer camps that will be 1 to 8 weeks part-time positions available. Shifts: Evenings between 6:30 - 8:30 pm Eastern Time on select days that work with your schedule, 2-8 hours on the weekends as availability allows. Start times may vary. Planned Start Date: October 15, 2024End Date: June 20, 2025Work Location: Remote via ZoomRate: $21.87 per hour *Candidates should be available for these weeks for consideration. This temporary contract is on an as-needed basis and is based on enrollment. The dates, shifts, and hours are not guaranteed.
