Director, Visual Merchandising

The Director of Retail Visual Merchandising plays a pivotal role in bringing Mejuri’s vision to life within our stores. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Brand, Growth, Merchandising, Store Design, Inventory Management, and Retail Operations, this role ensures consistent and compelling visual merchandising experiences across all locations. As a strategic leader, you will shape the retail roadmap and drive excellence in product presentation, in-store marketing, and overall customer experience.

With Mejuri’s ambitious growth plans, expanding to 40 stores by the end of the year, you will be at the forefront of translating the brand direction into tangible in-store experiences. You will lead the execution of visual merchandising strategies, ensuring that each store reflects the brand’s unique identity while maintaining consistency. You will be instrumental in creating captivating displays, optimizing fixture placement, and enhancing the overall shopping journey for Mejuri’s customers.

What you'll do:

• Visual Merchandising Strategy
  • In-store adaptation of brand directive
  • Utilizing business acumen to layout stores, fixture productivity and work with stores/merchants to deliver sell through of key items
  • Build tools for scalable execution
  • Establish standards for VM that include, marketing, product placement, visual display standards, lighting etc
  • Teach merchandising fundamentals to stores virtually and through workshops
  • Inspect weekly execution of store VM standards, facilities and other fundamentals
• Weekly Business Actions
  • Category performance analysis
  • Work with merchandising and marketing teams on a weekly basis
  • Work with Field Teams on a weekly basis
  • Perform store visits on a regular basis to understand unit performance
  • Action VM for slow turning product. Communicate to IM fast turning product themes
  • Proactively plan for seasonality and holidays
• Store Visual Presentation Mapping
  • Develop merchandising maps with styles by fixture type and by detail by fixture
  • Manage variability by store
• Subject Matter Expert Partnership
  • Lead in-store campaign development
  • Store and fixture design, NSO sign-off
• Store Visits
  • Training, teaching, inspection of execution
  • Development of teams business acumen based on product placement
  • Conduct workshops
• Campaign Execution
  • Be the Retail Rep for build
  • Once signed off on, adapt creative to store type and needs
  • Work with vendors to order and ship assets
  • Create store execution playbook

What you bring to the table:

• 10+ years of proven experience in Retail Visual Merchandising with detailed knowledge of fashion & retail
• Excellent communication & presentation skills with a passion for innovation, creativity, and the ability to deliver with a standard of excellence
• A hands-on problem solver with a willingness to work in the details and find opportunities to change process to drive efficiencies
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to change and new processes
• Ability to lead & driver large scale projects across a large number of locations simultaneously
• Ability to work collaboratively across varied cross functional teams
• Proven track record in building best in class teams & processes in a high growth environment
• Ability to travel often & internationally
• A resourceful self-starter with a “can-do” attitude and a “building” mindset
• Collaborative, emotionally intelligent, positive
