Information Technology Lead

Position Summary: Seeking a motivated and experienced back end and ETL Business Intelligence Engineer Lead who will be responsible for integrating, transforming, and consolidating data from various structured and unstructured data systems into structures that are suitable for building analytics solutions using technologies such as Microsoft, Snowflake and Informatica.Major Responsibilities:Responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:Help stakeholders understand the data through exploration, building and maintaining secure and compliant data processing pipelines by using different tools and techniques to produce cleansed and enhanced datasets for analysis. Ensure that data pipelines and data stores are high-performing, efficient, organized, and reliable, given a specific set of business requirements and constraints. Deal with unanticipated issues swiftly and minimizes data loss by performing data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues. Design, implement, monitor, and optimize data platforms to meet the data pipeline needs ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it. Provides bridge between existing SSIS DW and future of Azure Data Factory & Azure Synapse Analytics solutions. Support & maintenance of existing data flow solutions. Collaborates with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization. Writes unit/integration tests, contributes to engineering wiki, and documents work. Works closely with a team of frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and analysts. Design data integrations and data quality framework. Understanding of use cases for semi-structured & relational data tech a plus. Data modeling of combined business data (ERP) and specialty system data in Power BI to engineer shared datasets for self-service reporting via Power BI & ExcelCritical CompetenciesSignificant experience in developing and troubleshooting Azure Data Factory Gen 2 solutions from pipelines to integration runtimes, managing triggers, and logging integrations. Proficient in navigating the Azure Portal to review, configure and troubleshoot data platform and supporting resources such as Storage Containers, SQL Server Managed Instances, and Log Analytics workspaces. Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and supporting tools including SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server data tools in Visual Studio, and Integration Services (SSIS). Enterprise experience in data warehouse development and management: ETL vs ELT, star schemas, incremental load patterns, etc. Experience in designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines from SAP HANA, Oracle database, Snowflake using Informatica data management cloud. Proficient in writing and interpreting complex SQL queries and in developing SQL Server objects such as stored procedures, views, and indexes. Comfortable using Power BI reporting and ad hoc integrations with semantic models via Excel to perform data analysis. Able to assess data quality and automate data cleanup as part of continuous improvement of data load solutions. Commitment to following and iterating on specific, measurable validating testing procedures before production changes are made. Experienced in branching strategy strategies and integrating with GitHub via Visual Studio and ADF. Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available serviceExcellent independent problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Process oriented with great documentation skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service. Required Education / Experience / Skills: BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field10+ years of technical experience with Data Warehousing, data engineering using ETL (or ELT) techniques with Microsoft and Informatica ETL toolsExpert at SQLThorough understanding of data warehousing concepts including schema design and dimensional data modelingExperience developing Microsoft BI Solutions including SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, data models and OLAP cube solutions using Visual StudioAbility in managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clientsExperience in Snowflake is a plusExperience in Power BI is a plusGlobant is an EOE M/F/D/V.
