Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our team. The Tax Managerwill play a pivotal role in leading and managing various tax-related activities, includingplanning, compliance, and consulting services. This position offers the opportunity to workclosely with clients, senior leadership, and other team members to deliver high-quality taxsolutions while fostering client relationships and driving business growth.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage tax planning initiatives for clients, including analyzing complextax issues and developing effective strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, corporations, andother entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws andregulations.
Provide proactive tax advice and guidance to clients on a wide range of tax matters,including entity structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and tax implications ofbusiness transactions.
Prepare instruction letters for the execution of corporate reorganizations, estate &post-mortem tax planning, business succession planning, and the purchase andsale of a business.
Conduct tax research and interpret tax legislation and proposed legislative changesto suggest proactive solutions to clients and Partners.
Collaborate with other departments and team members to identify opportunities forcross-selling services and delivering comprehensive solutions to clients.
Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance, training, and support tofoster their professional growth and development.
Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication,responsiveness to client needs, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Canadian CPAdesignation required
Completion of the CPA in-depth Tax Course.• Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience in a public accounting practice,with a minimum of three (3) years specializing in taxation.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability toeffectively communicate complex tax concepts to clients and stakeholders.• Proven leadership and management abilities, with experience in supervising anddeveloping staff.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaininga high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Exceptional client service orientation, with a dedication to building and maintaininglong-term client relationships.
