What you'll do Responsibilities What you will be doing… The Manager, Workforce Development Process and Planning will provide strategic leadership in support and management of planning and processes related to both Contract Training and Continuing Education. This pivotal role demands skilled collaborative consultation and internal relationship-building. The Manager provides support to Workforce Development team, Schools and Campuses in the development and implementation of Contract Training and Continuing Education based on college, school and industry partner priorities. The Manager supports the development and maintenance of processes related to Workforce Development including resourcing required in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Similar to the work of other Mangers in the Department, central to this position is the responsibility for developing and implementing strategies that enhance the ability to provide workforce development solutions tailored for businesses and industries, assisting in building strong workforce development within the province. The incumbent will collaborate across internal departments, schools and campuses and will stimulate engagement across all faculty, staff, and students. This work incorporates the efficient management of organizational budgets and operational planning and can maximize and leverage results under constraints. Through self-motivated collaboration, the incumbent's previous experience makes them an influencer with integrity that has built trust within communities and among the public. This position is responsible for creating and delivering programs that provide value to the College in furtherance of NSCC's strategic plan. What you'll need Qualifications What we are looking for… Qualifications and Occupational Experience: The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree in a related field such as Business, or related discipline. You have a minimum of five (5) years of recent and related occupational experience in in process and planning, understanding of program development/delivery, planning and evaluation. You possess excellent project management skills Demonstrated knowledge of policy and procedure compliance in an academic/industrial setting Industrial or business experience in community relations is considered an asset Proven experience in managing projects, including financial aspects of project management. Experience in the development of effective internal and external communications and analytical writing skills. Strong quantitative and qualitative research, data and analysis and evidence-informed decision making skills Proven leadership skills to motivate and manage projects and project teams Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across all stakeholder groups Relevant Skills and Knowledge You demonstrate a commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility and anti-racism Excellent inter-personal skills with a demonstrated skill in relationship management. Excellent communication skills A demonstrated understanding of finance and financing options for collaborative projects. Ability to manage multiple complex tasks with strong prioritization skills The desire to foster a culture of innovation across all levels of the organization across the College. Demonstrated technology savvy and information management skills Able to work within the boundaries of a collective agreement Strategic thinker with strong hands-on leadership skills and the ability to inspire and influence others. Able to leverage research and market insight to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
