Location Address: Hybrid (2x/week on site), TorontoContract Duration: 12 months- possible Extension and FTESchedule Hours: 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday, 37.5 hrs per week Story Behind the Need• Business group: GRT - Risk Management• Project: Modernization project: Planning to move away with legacy database and market risk process and modernize the pipeline so that upgrades can be made quickly.Candidate Value Proposition- The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain a broad range of experience across different applications within capital markets risk.Typical Day in Role• Collaborate with other teams within risk management to gather requirements and provide updates on progress• Working alongside other BAs, developers, and project managers• Generate business requirements and documents that align to the policies to ensure that the new technology meets the needs of the business lines as they adapt to comply with policy• Analyzing existing processing and identifying opportunities for optimization• Work alongside developers and technical experts to develop functions or technical requirements that will provide the reference for new technology and new software• Design functional test cases and carry out the testing and valuation concurrently with development• Review test results and identify corrective steps for complex issues across application boundaries• Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills when conducting and facilitating presentations to stakeholders and management• Exercise initiative and sound judgment in the execution of project plans and schedulesCandidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:• 10+ years’ experience in the capacity of a BSA• 5+ years’ recent and relevant experience with capital markets risk and financial risk (VAR calculation and work with complex financial instruments, etc.)• 5+ years’ experience with Python shell scripting• Recent experience in Sybase SQL• Recent hands-on working experience with Unix/Linux is required• Previous experience with and knowledge of the SDLC.Documentation of business requirements is mustNice-To-Have Skills:• Familiarity with different data formats such as XML and JSON are assets• Experience with JIRA and Confluence is an asset.Soft Skills:• Verbal and written communication is required• Good teamwork• Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changes in requirements• Proactive problem solverBest vs Average: Candidates who can articulate their knowledge and experience of Market risk, decommissioning of legacy process will be the best fit. Awareness of the trade lifecycle, as well as strong experience with UAT and test cases. Communication is central to the role, as is ability to generate technical documentation. Experience in must have skillsets will be prioritized in shortlisting.Degrees or certifications:• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.Candidate Review & Selection• Structure and Format: Interviews held via MS Teams video o First round panel interview with BA lead, and Hiring manager (30 mins) o Second round interview with Director (HM) (30 mins)
