Job Requirements / Description
Key Responsibilities Translate from English to French Canadian a variety of documents such as but not limited to: internal memos, policies, programs, announcements, job descriptions or postings, biographies, strategic documents, presentations and/or other; Draft internal communications and assist with interdepartmental memos in French, as needed; Maintain the government compliance project regarding the use of French with l'Office Québécois de la langue française; Set up and manage proper page layouts using different tools, platforms or systems depending on the documents to produce; Develop lexicons of proper terminology in French for standard use at Clyde & Co; Contribute to developing language quality standards for French at the firm in Canada; Revise/edit translations provided by external vendors and resolve translation quality issues as they arise; Assist with external communications, pitches and proposals when needed; Manage several linguistic projects simultaneously while providing outstanding customer service to all internal clients; Maintain the confidentiality of all documents as required; Execute other relevant responsibilities as dictated by new or emerging business needs. Essential Skills & Experience University degree (Bachelor's or Certificate) with specialization in English to French Canadian translation, linguistics or the equivalent; Mastery of written French Canadian and English languages, specifically excellent writing, editing, spelling and grammar skills; native speaker of French and fluent in English; A minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience at translating a variety of documents in different domains within a professional services environment ideally; Well-versed in different technologies, tools and systems, including Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Vuture would be an asset; Excellent communication abilities to ensure great collaboration; Ability to interact independently and professionally with lawyers, partners, management and other business professionals & employees; Rigour, autonomy and efficiency in the work produced; Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in order to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; Quick learner with high attention to details; Flexibility to accommodate various types of demands for work; Member of OTTIAQ (Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec) preferred.
