Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of heritage buildings to evaluate their historical significance, architectural integrity, and preservation needs.
- Develop comprehensive conservation and restoration plans that adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in heritage conservation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, historians, and preservationists, to execute projects from conception to completion.
- Provide expert guidance on sensitive design interventions, adaptive reuse strategies, and sustainable practices that respect the original character of heritage buildings.
- Prepare detailed documentation, reports, and drawings to support project proposals, planning applications, and funding initiatives.
- Liaise with clients, government agencies, and community stakeholders to advocate for the preservation and adaptive reuse of heritage assets.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and research in heritage conservation to enhance the firm's expertise and reputation in the field.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Historic Preservation, or a related field.
- 8+ years working as a Heritage Architect on heritage conservation projects of varying scale and complexity.
- Proficiency in architectural software (Revit, AutoCAD) and graphic design tools for documentation and presentation purposes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas, collaborate effectively with stakeholders, and advocate for heritage conservation.
