This full-time position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham Street, located in Downtown Sudbury.Under the leadership of the Vice President, Health and Wellness, the Centre Manager of Health and Wellness is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the YMCA branch and all its components in accordance with the Charitable purpose, Annual Plan, and strategic direction as established in policies, procedures, and concrete objectives. This job is also responsible for organizing, directing, and evaluating the delivery of programs and services in Health and Wellness through effective management of human, material, and financial resources.START DATE: As soon as possibleLOCATION: Sudbury, ONRATE OF PAY: $60,000 - $70,000 per yearHOURS: 40 per week (some evenings and weekends)Major ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership to the Health, Fitness, and Aquatics operation, as well as overall centre management.Contribute in setting operational goals and priorities and coordinate their implementation and timelines.Participate in the development of, and implement association standards, policies, and procedures.Ensure the implementation of quality measures such as member experience standards, funders’ expectations, and program evaluations.Monitor the results and develop and implement quality measures response plans.Recruit, hire, and supervise the Health and Wellness team.Identify and develop strategic alliances that assist the YMCA in meeting its mission and objectives.QualificationsUniversity degree or college diploma in business administration, recreation and leisure services, Child and youth worker, physical fitness management, or equivalent.Minimum 4 years of experience in a leadership/management/supervisory role in a not-for-profit environment; preferably overseeing a Health and Wellness department.Experience developing and growing programs.Active in community development.Solid understanding of social services at the local, provincial, and federal level.Superior computer knowledge and ability to learn new programs.Superior verbal and written communication skills.Proven proposal and report writing expertise.Excellent leadership skills.Ability to set priorities.Bilingualism in both official languages considered an asset.Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check.What We OfferFree Personal Membership and Family Membership.Discounts for day camps and recreational programs, summer camp, and licensed child care for toddlers up to school-age.Paid vacation and sick/personal days.Extended Health and Dental Care Program that includes coverage for Vision and Professional Services such as those performed by Dieticians, Chiropractors, Massage Therapists, Psychologists, Naturopaths, and more!Employee and Family Assistance Program that includes short-term mental health supports such as counselling and online courses, and lifestyle coaching which includes legal and financial counselling.Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment & Long-Term Disability Benefits.Team bonding and employee recognition events.Opportunity to explore a wide range of jobs and functions.Flexible hours and scheduling, and hybrid work options, depending on role.HOW TO APPLYIf you would like to work in a family-friendly environment, please apply, by website only, with a cover letter and resume by May 14, 2024 to the attention of the Personnel Committee.Please ensure that your cover letter and resume both specify the job title of the position that you are applying for.All applicants are thanked for their interest in this position.
