Hours: 70 (8 hours; Days) - 0800-1600 hours; Monday to Friday
Salary: HL21 (CAD39.91 - CAD51.89 per hour)
Responsibilities: This position is part of a management team reporting to the Regional Director - Laboratory Services and will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the Laboratory at Western Memorial Regional Hospital as well as clinical and technical support for the rural laboratories within Western Health.

Qualifications: The successful applicant will possess a minimum of five years' experience in a hospital Laboratory as a General Registered Technologist (RT) and currently registration with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and the Newfoundland and Labrador Council of Health Professionals (NLCHP). The successful applicant will be an action-oriented individual and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational, interpersonal, financial management and decision-making skills are essential, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment and a commitment to team building. The successful applicant will hold a Bachelor of Technology or a Bachelor's Degree in a Health Related Discipline.
In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess a Bachelor's Degree, provided they are willing to complete same within five years of appointment to the position. In this case, the successful applicant must be prepared to demonstrate proof of registration/enrollment to an appropriate degree program within the first year of appointment to the position. Furthermore, the successful applicant is required to provide annual updates based on the progress of each semester of the program.
Additional Information:Travel throughout the Region is required.A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
