YOUR IMPACT As the Director of Global Mobility, you will lead OpenText’s global mobility program, ensuring seamless movement of employees across international borders. You will oversee critical functions such as international assignments, immigration processes, tax compliance, and expatriate support, aligning global mobility strategy with business goals and long-term talent objectives. Your leadership will help shape a high-functioning team, streamline operations, and optimize our global mobility practices, ensuring compliance and a positive employee experience in a dynamic, multinational environment. WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS Develop and execute a global mobility strategy aligned with business goals and talent objectives, ensuring compliance with legal, tax, and immigration requirements. Oversee the entire process for international assignments, including assignment planning, cost projections, and repatriation. Continuously evaluate and improve current processes and programs to enhance efficiency, enabling the team to focus on strategic, value-added work. Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing opportunities for cross-functional projects and regional collaboration. Ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations, working with external tax advisors to manage tax compliance and planning for international assignments. Develop tax equalization policies and cost projections for cross-border moves, ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting. Manage relationships with external service providers, including tax advisors, immigration attorneys, and global payroll vendors, ensuring vendor performance and contract execution. Maintain accurate records of all international assignments and relocations, utilizing technology to streamline processes and improve data accuracy. Develop and present reports on global mobility metrics, including cost analysis, assignment status, and compliance updates. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s Degree is preferred. 10-12 years of experience in global mobility or a related HR function, with at least 5 years in a managerial role. In-depth knowledge of global mobility policies, immigration laws, and tax compliance across multiple regions and countries. Proficiency in data analysis using Excel to drive meaningful business decisions. Advanced communication skills, with the ability to develop executive-level business case materials. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. Strategic thinker with problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a complex environment with tight deadlines and significant change and ambiguity. Adaptability and cultural sensitivity, essential for success in a global role.
