Your future role on our team
BBA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineering Leadfor mine process plants to support our continued growth Western Canada. Theselected candidate will play a key role in all phases of engineering projectsfrom front end-studies through to field implementation with a focus on detailedengineering. As a senior member of the mechanical engineering team, thecandidate will be responsible for ensuring technical quality, developing newbusiness opportunities, and fostering team development.

Develop mechanical scopes of work, budgets, and proposals.
Perform high level engineering on major mechanical packages such as: crushing and grinding circuits, flotation circuits, leaching circuits, dewatering.
Lead mechanical scope on conceptual design studies, pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering.
Be a key team member for small to major brownfield/greenfield mining projects
Participate in site visits, inspections, condition assessments, commissioning, and testing (site visits will typically be 3-10 days at a time up to twenty-five days a year. These number are negotiable during the interview process)
Provide mentorship and coaching of junior/intermediate engineers, actively sharing knowledge, and supporting the enhancement of skills within the team

Proven track record with strong technical skills as a Mechanical Engineer on mineral process plant projects
Experience in base and precious metals: asset
Ability to interpret PFD’s and process design criteria from process engineering, oversee plant layouts, mechanical equipment selection, technical bid evaluation and validation and pump sizing
University degree in Mechanical Engineering
12+ years of relevant engineering experience in the mining sector with a preference for 5+ years in consulting
12 to 25 years (pay range based on experience) of relevant engineering experience in the mining sector with a preference for 5+ years in consulting
Must be a registered in Canada
Valid driver’s license
Available for site work and short-term assignments (3-10 days at a time up to twenty-five days a year) Site experience considered a strong asset An overview of BBA’s total reward
