Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. This entails being available for on-call and onsite responsibilities beyond the standard work week. Your flexibility will be essential to this position as your schedule may require you to work on weekends, evenings, nights, holidays to support major track closures (MTCs), critical incidents and special events. It's important to note that this schedule is subject to change based on Metrolinx's operational needs and the evolving demands of our industry. Our Customer Enablement team is seeking a Manager, Analytics & Insight to Supports the Customer Experience function by assisting with the development of the BI platform, to meet the data and reporting needs of the CTO division. This role will lead a team of data analysts and reporting resources to drive a data-driven culture and deliver quality analysis, interpretation of findings and clear articulation of results and insights into the performance of CTO projects, programs, portfolios, and operations. What will I be doing? Establish and implement a strategic plan for collecting, managing, and reporting all CTO project performance data. Analyze complex information, uncover trends, and provide data-driven insights to inform business actions and drive performance.  Establish and implement a data governance framework for existing internal and future external data. Responsible for developing and improving senior management reports, including KPIs, performance management business meetings, risks and issues and financial reports. Responsible for liaising with each business unit to establish reporting requirements and provide system-driven, best-in-class reporting solutions. Responsible for collecting, maintaining, and validating all CTO project delivery team performance data through a systems approach. Establish and implement strategies for improving data quality from various data owners. Establish a centralized reporting and analytics service team to provide consultative and analytical services across the CTO division. This will enhance the CTO's engagement with the information required to manage the business. Solid understanding of CTO business and operating environment is highly desirable. Experience in/knowledge of the transit and/or rail industry is an asset. Experience in the transit and/or rail industry is an asset.  Experience with and exposure to data analytics and business intelligence tools ., SAP Business objects, Power BI, Tableau; writing queries, building reports, and diagnosing issues. Analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate information, identify and analyze issues, and develop recommendations.  Experience on data visualization and / or ability to present data analytics in an insightful manner for the leadership will be an added plus. Communicates and provides support to enhance and achieve organizational goals. Translate complex issues into compelling data stories using effective visualizations. Liaises with internal departments regarding operational issues or improvements and provides subject matter expertise to the management team on as required.  Works with staff at all levels to exchange information, coordinate efforts, and resolve issues. Creates a culture of continuous improvement to ensure high-quality service standards, recommending process, standards, or policy changes to advance excellence in corporate project management practices. Ensure the adoption of best practices, methodologies, governance, and data-driven performance management as applicable to operational performance reporting. Manages a team of analysts and delivers timely feedback to ensure a cohesive operational unit and the optimum use of team skills; manages staff and monitors work assignments to ensure adherence to timelines; monitors the achievement of performance objectives; develops and implements action plans to address performance gaps. Accountable for managing a team of high-potential professionals, providing leadership, oversight, coaching and guidance with strategy, day-to-day work management, prioritization, capacity planning, and team development, including recruitment. What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need? Completion of a Degree in a related field such as Planning, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics, or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent. Demonstrate years of progressively responsible experience in leading performance management, analyses, reporting, and business intelligence within a capital delivery/construction environment Managerial or leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to plan, set priorities, schedule and lead, coach, motivate and manage staff.
