They are the truest expression of humanity and of creativity and, as such, are fundamental to us.Who you are: The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) is the key partner for showroom and retail personnel across Canada by providing expertise, coaching and advice primarily in the areas of employee relations and implementation of policies and procedures. In addition, the HRBP is responsible for both general Human Resource functions and full payroll processing, including quarterly and year-end processes (federal, state/province and local payroll tax filings, W-2’s, T4’s and worker’s compensation, etc.). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and possesses significant knowledge of Canada’s payroll administration. The HRBP is based in the Toronto, ON Showroom and will be reporting to the Director People and Culture, North America.What You’ll Do:Create effective partnerships with leaders and employees to develop thoughtful people strategies focusing on talent acquisition, talent management and development, employee engagement, and recognition.Partner with Hiring Managers to attract and hire candidates whose competencies and experience supports the needs of the business.Ensure compliance with Canada labor regulation, stay up to date with new developments and market trends.Complete offer letters, new hire paperwork, and orientation/onboarding including conducting background, reference checks, and work status verification.Maintain all employee personnel files electronically.Support with Offboarding including preparing documents, benefit terminations, and exit interviews. Provide guidance to employees on all employment matters.Transmit payroll electronically in a timely manner including balancing payroll accounts, resolving payroll discrepancies, review and process payroll adjustments, manage PTO administration, and maintenance in payroll software.Ensures payroll-related transactions are processed in compliance with internal and external policies.Assist with year-end payroll process including gathering and loading data for year-end adjustments.Responsible for the administration of benefit enrollments, life qualifying events of corporate and retail employees.Responsible for LOA, Disability, Worker Compensation and COBRA administration. Implement and initiate additional benefit-related employee informational communications and meetings including providing hands-on support on wellness initiatives. Organize annual employee performance reviews.Ad hoc projects as needed.Performs other related HR duties as assigned by the Director of People and Culture. Qualifications:5-7 years of proven work experience as an HR Generalist/Business Partner or relevant role.Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Canadian payroll processing.Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business required.Knowledgeable in Canada employment-related laws and regulationsStrong computer skills, specifically MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook), working knowledge of Workday and ADP Workforce Now preferred.Highly organized and self-motivated and thrives working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.High attention to detail and accuracy.Team player with a generous streak of curiosity and entrepreneurial disposition.Strong interpersonal skills and highly discreet.
