Job Description - Sr. Facility Project Engineer (St. Thomas) (ST.000091) Primary Location We are currently looking for a Senior Facility Project Engineer based out of St. Thomas, ON Reporting to the Head of Facility Construction Management (FCM), this position will support the project owner by overseeing and ensuring the successful build and completion of the PowerCo SE St. Thomas Gigafactory. You’ll provide on-site construction scheduling support, keep a close eye on key project constraints such as time, budget, quality, and safety. As boots on the ground, you’ll report on progress and ensure that the project aligns with the vision and objectives determined by PowerCo SE headquarters. This role requires a full-time onsite presence at our St. Thomas location. Primary Responsibilities: Ensure alignment of our facility design with the standard factory designs as determined by PowerCo SE in Germany through regular meetings and updates. Optimize and define local user requirements for our buildings and connection points with municipal utilities and agencies. Lead the process for tender document creation, hand-over to purchasing department and bidding, providing support as needed. Take the lead on the technical evaluation of construction offers and finalize purchase orders within the PowerCo Canada committees. Coordinate construction companies and activities on our property in general with support of internal and external partners. Guide the release of the construction work and solve open points with construction companies. Manage claims from the construction companies as needed in a timely fashion. Overall coordination and scheduling of milestones with our construction partners, considering all interfaces (e.g. equipment installation, start of production, etc.). Act as key point of contact for internal team and external consultants. Schedule and monitor assigned tasks and projects to internal and external stakeholders. Prepare reports for project team, different areas of the business, and leadership. Conduct and support internal team members by site inspections to manage progress and deliver progress reports. Prepare internal and external audits. Perform other tasks, as required. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, MEP engineering or related field of study. P.Eng designation is preferred. 5+ years relevant work experience (i.e., engineering, architecture, construction, or equivalent), with execution or planning of large scale, industrial facilities. Leadership experience is a strong plus. Well organized, with experience with the setup, scheduling, and tracking of milestones within large construction projects. Able to work safely on an active construction site in accordance with the Health & Safety Plan. Ability to anticipate potential problems or areas of concern and prevent them using a logical approach and analytical thinking. Proven history of successful collaboration and efficient delegation of work. Proficient in workflows, and quality control/quality assurance. Ability to travel within Canada and globally.
