Aon is looking for a Senior Consultant in Western Canada.Aon is in the business of better decisionsAt Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.What the day will look likeSupport the team on various projects, such as:Analysis and negotiation of annual renewalsAnalysis and cost projections following carrier marketingsExperience monitoring, including analysis of claim costs, trends and client relevant KPIsPrepare and/or review of client ready materialProvide technical expertise to client teams and analysts in respect to the work being completedProvide advanced analysis, insights and recommendations to client teams and other team membersReview client communication material, from a technical standpoint, following renewals, marketings, new plan implementations, redesigns or for union meeting purposesSupport ad-hoc financial requests, working with carriers and other business units to support client facing colleaguesAttend client meetings in support of the client teams as requiredCoordinate projects with analysts, other business units and carriersIncrease efficiency by identifying ways to improve standardized processes and add value to client deliverablesBuild strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, client teams and carriersAct as a role model, ensuring adherence to internal tools, quality, technical, professional and ethical standardsMaintain an up-to-date knowledge of the group benefits industry, systems, products, trends and emerging technology, to support a thorough understanding of how this relates to increasing value to clientsParticipate in team projects and activities which drive innovation, improved client value and business resultsHow this opportunity is differentAs a Senior Consultant in our Broking and Financial Management team, you will be supporting client teams in the servicing of clients with respect to the financial management of their benefit programs. Working with a team of analysts and senior team leaders you will be involved with a variety of client deliverables including but not limited to annual renewals, carrier marketings, experience reporting and analysis, budget preparation, review of financial statements, union negotiations, pricing and plan redesigns.Skills and experience that will lead to successMinimum Eight (8) years of direct group benefits experience in consulting or underwriting environment is requiredMust have and maintain a valid group insurance license – multi-jurisdictional is an assetDemonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills in developing solutions for complex client/business issuesProven organization skills and the ability to effectively coordinate the delivery of projects and advisory servicesDemonstrated ability to lead projects and client team membersStrong technical expertise and the proven ability to remain current with respect to industry trends, provincial and federal legislative policies and changesExcellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and writtenAbility to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervisionMeticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills and the ability to multi-taskProven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressureMust have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office PackageUniversity or College graduate in Financial Services, Mathematics, Actuarial science, or related discipline, or equivalent years of industry experienceCompleted Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) would be an assetHow we support our colleaguesIn addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
