Toronto's new Ontario Line subway is now under construction. The Connect 6ix consortium has a key role in this project, delivering the trains, the signaling system, and the operations, storage, and maintenance facility. Connect 6ix will also operate the Ontario Line for a 30-year term once it comes into service.The role is Full-time 100% onsite position at our downtown office.About the Project:The Connect 6ix project is a pivotal part of constructing Toronto's new Ontario Line subway. The Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance (RSSOM) project is one of many contracts to deliver the Ontario Line, a 15.6-kilometre stand-alone rapid transit line that will connect the Ontario Science Centre to Exhibition/Ontario Place.Responsibilities:Ensures compliance with the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) guidelines of the Group:Enforces safety and evacuation procedures, leading by example (responsible driving, wearing PPE on-site, etc.).Promotes a preventive approach and ensures the health and safety of team members (RPS, working conditions, etc.).Contributes to the implementation of the Action Plan, performance review, and roadmap within their scope.Raises awareness among teams and ensures adherence to environmental guidelines, allocating necessary prevention resources and fostering individual accountability.This role will report to the Technical Director:Provide overall technical support to the CJV Construction team as a link with the CJV technical team on site.Leading the correct implementation of the engineering assurance processes during the construction in collaboration with CJV technical and construction teams, per the Connect 6ix design assurance management plan.Responsible for the right implementation of design change management procedures during the construction in collaboration with the CJV design, construction and quality teams (Request for information, field change requests).Contributing with technical expertise to the proposal and review of engineering and construction processes, as well as to temporary works (structural background).Provide support to the CJV Construction team, so ensure the right implementation of the Connect 6ix Shop Drawings procedures, managing it reviews and acceptance.Provide support to the technical and construction teams on the preparation of procurement technical packages.Liaising between clients, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.Support the CJV construction team with the implementation of Connect 6ix Shop and Temporary Works procedures.Support the CJV Construction team on the preparation and review of the red line drawing packages, for supporting the main consultant preparation of the final As-Builts and Record of Drawings.Key Skills and qualifications:• Experience in major civil engineering works (over 7 years)• In-depth knowledge of construction industry regulations• A good communicator and able to build positive working relationships, internally and with the supply chain.• Ability to coordinate and manage own workload supporting project delivery.• Resilient, positive & confident character• IT skills – MS Office suite• Possession of good organizational and communication skills• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.We are an equal opportunity employer.
