Sr. Analyst, Electrical Programmer Apply Locations: CAN - Ontario - Brantford Time Type: Full time Posted on: Posted 5 Days Ago Job Requisition ID: 27236 As a member of the Continuous Improvement team, this position will focus primarily on Operations Loss elimination, Operations Expense projects, CI initiatives, and Process support of the Brantford facility. As a licensed trade or certified technician, under the direction of the CI Manager, this person will take charge of equipment performance and continuous improvement projects for the site. National and international travel may be required for vendor/SCJ site visits. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with the Production and Maintenance Team on the development and execution of corrective actions to eliminate loss and optimize planned maintenance stoppages at Brantford manufacturing. Provide active support to Operations team in troubleshooting emergency, chronic, and repeated problems impacting OEE. Document chronic problems, solutions, and findings of faults to vendors and maintenance & engineering group for future reference. Designing, configuring, integrating, and implementing process control solutions using PLC, HMI Design & Programming. Troubleshooting, upgrading, migration, and/or installation of SCADA, PLC, and HMI Hardware for projects related to general maintenance or new construction facilities, including logic design and network configuration. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, electrical circuit schematic drawings, and wiring diagrams to determine wiring sequences, layouts, and locations. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of lean tools such as Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis in day-to-day applications. Should be able to clearly identify Value Added and Non-Value-Added activities. Execute maintenance and small capital projects including design, equipment selection, budgeting, installation, and supervision of contractors according to local, provincial, and national codes. Maintains the master set of markup drawings, codes any device configuration files. Ensure final prints are issued once the startup phase is complete. Ensures all documentation is backed up on the network in accordance with the backup procedure. Collaborate with engineering group on all upcoming capital projects. In conjunction with Maintenance and Production teams, using historical information from SAP, Redzone, and data acquisition systems, develop and modify as required Planned Maintenance Programs to ensure reliable cost-effective performance of all machinery and components. Attend training courses/seminars as required to maintain technical skill level as related to trade, equipment, and processes in use. Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner paying special attention to hazards to which personnel and visitors may be susceptible. Maintain good housekeeping in areas of work. Required Skills / Experience / Competencies: College diploma with a relevant specialization (Trade license and/or Technologist and/or Professional qualification) Demonstrated proficiency in programming Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills. 1-3 years of experience preferred in manufacturing, with experience directly related to the packaged goods industry Excellent interpersonal skills Experience with industrial automation & controls Experience in Electrical Engineering design, specifically with control panels Application of PLC Logic and related automation networks.
