Director - Data Governance

An industry leading investment bank is looking to onboard a leader to oversee their enterprise data strategy and governance function. As the Director - Data Strategy and Governance you will be tasked with creating a roadmap and overseeing the implementation of the bank's data strategies. You will be leading a team focusing on policy design and enhance the data aggregation processes to make data more accessible to internal stakeholders. This role will also work with others to create a data quality framework in an effort to not only enable the data but create value for the entire enterprise. As the group SME, this role will work across various lines of business and work with stakeholders to build capabilities and develop data-oriented solutions accordingly. Responsibilities: Work with other leaders to design and develop a centralized data management platform. Drive project roadmap and implementation of an enterprise-wide Data Governance operating modelProvide a clear understanding of data ownership and stewardship with well-defined processes and roles.Take initiative in driving results of projects through influence and collaboration within technology, security, privacy, and other stakeholders. Engage as key point of contact for other functions dependent on new and existing data as serve as a product owner. Requirements: 12+ years of experience in data governance, engineering, and strategy within the financial services industry. 3+ years in a managerial function are required as you will be leading a sizeable team. Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in business administration, computer science, data science, or other related fields. Expert proficiency in ETL and data warehousing tools such as Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query, etcWorking knowledge of data governance frameworks (GDPR, CCPE, etc.) Excellent communication skills are a must given the cross-functional nature of the position.
