Site Operational Excellence Generalist  

This opportunity provides operational excellence support for Bayer Canola manufacturing in Lethbridge, Alberta and Cranbrook, BC sites, and tracks and supports all improvement projects and initiatives at those sites.

This is a permanent position based out of Lethbridge, AB or Cranbrook, BC, requiring local travel to both sites.

What you will do:

  • Develop robust understanding of a manufacturing management system methodology, lean content and change management approach to successfully coach and help sites that have implemented an internal management practice system
  • Review opportunities and findings within manufacturing systems and share them across other sites 
  • Guide teams to size the value improvements and prioritize initiatives
  • Coach / guide the team to ensure the recommendations and actions improve value for the site 
  • Execute the standards and works with regional mission teams to ensure sustainability of manufacturing management systems across sites and regions 
  • Recommends updates to the manufacturing management system standards in collaboration with other regional Implementation Leads
  • Act as a regional SME and facilitate the continuous improvement journey of management system at the site
  • Review the status of management system implementation at each site and challenge teams to develop action plans to close gaps to plan e.g. timelines, practice maturity progression, financial targets, adoption and sustainability of improvements 
  • Execute the sustainability roadmap and conduct health checks at the sites
  • Lead and facilitate milestone reviews and provide specific workshops as needed
  • Coordinate with stakeholders at site and regional leaderships to remove roadblocks to successful management system implementation
  • Provide project and change management support for mission teams as needed

Who you are:

  • BS in either agriculture, an engineering discipline, Supply Chain Management or similar degree
  • 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing/agricultural operations and management areas 
    • Experience working in a production system environment 

Preferred:

  • Leadership experience in manufacturing or supply chain 
  • Experience in managing and developing teams
  • Skilled at leading, managing conflict and negotiating with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstration of courage, candor and initiative in past assignments
