We are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Research and Development (R&D) to lead our dynamic R&D team. The successful candidate will drive the strategic direction of our R&D efforts, oversee the development of new BMS products and solutions, and ensure the successful execution of R&D projects. What will you do? Develop and execute the company's overall R&D strategy to drive innovation and product development in the field of Building Automation Systems. Lead and mentor a talented team of engineers, software developers, and researchers to drive excellence and innovation in R&D activities. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Sales, and Marketing, to ensure alignment of R&D initiatives with business objectives and market needs. Oversee the design, development, and testing of new BMS products, software applications, and technologies to meet customer requirements and market demands. Drive continuous improvement and optimization of R&D processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency, quality, and speed to market. Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and technical excellence within the R&D organization. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments related to Building Automation Systems to identify opportunities for innovation and growth. Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with industry organizations, technology vendors, and academic institutions to enhance R&D capabilities and access to resources. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in all R&D activities. Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on the progress, milestones, and outcomes of R&D initiatives. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree (Master's or PhD) preferred. Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in R&D leadership roles within the building automation, controls, or related industry. Proven track record of successfully leading and managing R&D teams to deliver innovative products and solutions. Strong technical expertise in building automation systems, controls, software development, and related technologies. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term R&D strategies. Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence. Strong business acumen and ability to align R&D activities with overall business objectives. Experience in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with external stakeholders. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead teams through change and uncertainty.
