In your day-to-day you will be responsible for: Follow methodology for all projects keeping in mind industry coding standards and best practices when working on all projects. Assists in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software systems. Performs various levels of testing to ensure correctness of software systems using various means of automated and manual testing, such as: unit testing, integration testing, acceptance testing, smoke testing, etc. Participate in code reviews on work produced by other team members and work closely with QA to perform test plan reviews. Proactively play a supporting role in managing our client’s expectations, concerns, and/or questions. Documents new and existing applications and systems through a combination of textual explanations and visual diagrams of varying levels of detail depending on the target audience. Requirements Bachelor's degree or College degree in Software Development or related program. 10+ years with a proven track record of IBMi (iSeries, AS/400), DB2 database and RPGLE language (free-form and fix-form syntax). Experience using embedded SQL within RPG and data modernization tool such as RDi. Recent programming and analysis experience in the following systems: AS/400, iSeries, RPGILE, Free format RPGLE, SQL. Advanced DB2 SQL Programming. Effective communication with all levels of employees and management. Eligibility to work in North America. Given the daily interactions required with colleagues and/or clients who are mainly located outside Quebec, this role requires fluency in English. Skill set Required Skills and Qualifications: Speaking language: English. Minimum of 15 years experience as an IBM iSeries developer. Experience in RPGILE or RPG free. Experience with proper debugging techniques of interactive and batch jobs. Experience with DDS, CL, and Spooled files. Experience analyzing project requirements and providing impact analysis. Preferred Education, Skills, and Qualities: Experience working independently with minimal supervision. Ability to write technical documents. Experience with data conversions. Experience with server-to-server FTP automation. Experience with embedded SQL would be a bonus but is not required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
