Akkodis is recruiting on behalf of one of it's larger Social Media clients an IT specialist who are seeking an IT Specialist who will act as the first point of contact for end-users. As an IT Business Partner, your focus is not just to resolve incidents, but to find the underlying problem and develop long term solutions.This is 100% on site position located in Downtown Vancouver and contract to hire. ABOUT THE ROLE: Reporting to Regional Service Desk Lead, typical responsibilities will include:Provide top-notch IT support to our local offices as well as our world-wide remote office workersInterface daily with other technical staff, and work on assignments and delivering services to end-usersMonitor our corporate and development infrastructure and assist in its growthBuild, set-up, maintain, implement, and troubleshoot technology problems related to laptops, desktops, servers and systems that affect end-user productivitySupport both Windows and Mac systems in the corporate environment (Advanced understanding of Mac/Apple products is an asset)This includes desktops, laptops, servers and systems.Responsibilities:Perform basic troubleshooting tasks and operating system support on Microsoft Windows OS, Mac OS X and network servicesMobile device setup, installation and/or post installation supportCreate IT instructionsOn-call rotationProvide event support, setup AV and live stream equipment - needs to be for big conference rooms or event REQUIRED SKILLS:College Degree in Computer Science, Systems Science, and Computer Engineering or 2+ years of relevant disciplineExcellent customer service, organizational, prioritization, multitasking and communicationGood understanding in at least two of the following skill-sets required within IT Operations: Windows, Mac, Unix/Linux, Networking, Scripting/Automation, Application troubleshooting and backupSystematic problem solving approach with the ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and make progress in areas where a high ambiguity and uncertainty existStrong working knowledge of common applications: email (Gmail), GSuite desktop publishing (Microsoft Office), web browsers (Safari, Chrome...Etc.)Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, willingness to learn new procedures and tasksEasiest way to applyApply by clicking on this job posting
