The Nursing Manager participates in the recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance assessment of nurses, including the identification and remediation of performance issues when necessary. The Nursing Manager collaborates with all relevant stakeholders to optimize service delivery and ensure patients and staff are supported.Job Function and Duties:Manages patient care processes that enhances patient-centered care, professional practice, and accountabilityMonitors and evaluates documentation of registered staffOversee vacation requests and adequate coverage of nursing staffWork in collaboration with Team Lead to facilitate assignment of nursing staff to patientsIn collaboration with the leadership team, takes a leadership role in program development, improvement, and evaluation ·Develops and implements innovative action plans to achieve required performance targets and applies performance metrics to aid in decision-making and continuous quality improvement opportunitiesFosters growth and development of staff, provides coaching and mentoringProvides a progressive and proactive approach to practice as per professional practice and corporate standardsModels, listens, and assists with conflict and problem resolutionAssists with orientation of new employees and agency staffAddresses patient/family concerns and follow up necessary to resolve the issue(s)Participates in the development and implementation of new processes or initiativesIs attentive to and intervenes on any patient safety issues observed.Adheres to the behaviours outlined in our policies and procedures that promote client safetyInvestigates, reports and addresses any patient related incidents, escalating as requiredOther duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in NursingCurrent registration, in good standing with the College of NursesComprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices and techniques including certification and experience in mental health and addictions requiredAt minimum, 3 years relevant experience clinical and/or professional experience in mental health and addictionsExperience working with patients with mental health and addictions, and in residential settings an assetDemonstrated comfort with technology and innovation in nursing practiceKnowledge of relevant legislation, practice standards and best practice guidelinesDemonstrated commitment to best practice and quality improvementAbility to function effectively and lead during periods of rapid change and transitionAbility to remain calm under pressure; role models composureDemonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team both within EHN Canada and with external agencies.Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task in a fast paced, challenging environment, often with competing priorities.Employee Benefits and Perks:Comprehensive benefits package, including a yearly allowance of $1,500 for mental health and addiction services, as well as $500 per service for various paramedical services, such as massage and physiotherapy24/7 Employee Assistance Program through GreenShield HealthCompetitive paid time off policies, including a paid day off on your birthdayAccess to in-house fitness facilities where applicable or discounted external gym membershipsPerks and discounts with Perkopolis – entertainment, home/auto/pet insurancePersonal and professional development through our Education Support Assistance programNationwide presence allows for supportive relocation opportunitiesDefined Benefit pension through CAAT with up to a 4% employer contributionMaternity and parental leave top-upAccess to discounts at Kids & Co.
