Participates in deal teams to originate and execute advisory and financing opportunities. Creates pitch books for clients with respect to financial solutions and participate in their presentation to clients. Provides regular insight around sector themes for clients and perspective on how clients can respond to changing market conditions. Creates financial models to analyze client portfolios and anticipate client needs. Generates updated financial models / analyses as dictated by business needs and industry requirements. Applies appropriate technical concepts and completes/leads consistent and reliable technical and financial reports/analyses to support client deliverables. Uses financial analysis to proactively identify opportunities to cross-sell. Conducts due diligence (e.g. business model analysis, and comprehensively reviewing industry trends and related regulations). Provides direction and feedback to Analysts; accountable for development and mentoring of Analysts. Identifies opportunities for increased efficiency and improved service to internal and external clients. Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders. Understands the complexity of transactions and related risk (credit, market, operational, legal/compliance, etc.). Considers risk, internal controls and compliance as part of day-to-day accountabilities and adheres to policies and procedures. Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. Qualifications: Typically between 2 - 5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An undergraduate degree with academic coursework in finance, economics, or accounting and an outstanding academic achievement. 2+ years of investment banking or valuation experience at a financial analyst level. Knowledge of capital markets, investment banking products and applicable regulations. Credit analysis experience / understanding. Demonstrates solid deal/transaction execution and/or project management skills. Exceptional skills in quantitative analytics, financial modeling and credit analysis skills. Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools. Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience. Data driven decision making - In-depth. Compensation and Benefits: Pay Type: Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
