We are recruiting for an Inspections Leader, British Columbia (BC) to join our Vancouver Team.

Position Summary

The Inspections Leader, BC leads CPAB’s regulatory oversight in British Columbia and leads the Vancouver office. Responsibilities include leading our British Columbia inspections team and oversight of public company audit firms in BC .

You are a CPA and understand the important, and complex, role of Canada’s national, independent audit regulator and our responsibility to protect the public interest.

You have significant public company financial statement audit experience at a Senior Manager, Income or Associate Partner level.

You thrive in, and like to contribute to, an intellectually stimulating environment. You’re comfortable with change and are happy to share your ideas and thoughts on ways to improve. You have progressive leadership experience leading and developing high-performing teams.

Key Accountabilities

  • A significant component of the Inspections Leader, BC role is people leadership. The Inspections Leader, BC is accountable for attracting, retaining, and developing staff and fostering a positive workplace environment.
  • The Inspections Leader, BC oversees the implementation of the regulatory oversight program within the region to drive enhanced audit quality.
  • The Inspections Leader, BC assumes a leadership role for senior level interactions within the region, including with other regulators and audit firm leadership.
  • In exercising the role, the incumbent is expected to use a regulatory mindset, critical thinking, and judgment to develop innovative solutions to issues and challenges.

Professional Experience / Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years management and leadership experience.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Significant public company financial statement audit experience at a Senior Manager, Income or Associate Partner level.
  • Progressive leadership experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Expert technical knowledge of auditing, accounting, and internal controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience with implementation of strategic and operating plans.
