Affinity group for women On the job training Key Responsibilities: Perform mechanical/material properties characterization under ISO/ASTM standards. This includes but is not limited to ICP-OES, powder testing, metallography, chemical analysis, physical, and mechanical testing, and NDT.Conduct testing in a laboratory setting while adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.Consistently write test reports correctly for all the testing required in the laboratory.Oversee the lab's consumables redundancy program to prevent downtime from shortages.Support Burloak’s activities to ensure successful audits concerning ISO17025 and NADCAP accreditations for Heat Treatment and Materials Testing.Review monthly preventative maintenance plans and assist in repairing and documenting malfunctioning equipment.Once trained, be able to train Co-Op students on relative testing techniques.Communicate with supervisors on day-to-day activities to meet deadlines most efficiently.Manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks/projects, diversified workload, rapidly changing priorities, and challenging deadlines.Take initiative within standard operating procedures and testing while maintaining a cautious approach and seeking approval when necessary.Any other tasks required by the manager. Qualifications: College technical degree in laboratory operations or relevant 3 years' experience in materials testing laboratoryDemonstrated computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).Demonstrated ability to manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks/projects, diversified workload, rapidly changing priorities, and challenging deadlines. Solid laboratory experience with chemical and metal processing equipment and/or powder testing in an industrial environment is considered an asset. Training and Technical Knowledge Good learning agility: It is imperative that the successful candidate can quickly learn technical procedures, and then consistently follow them, as the Burloak Engineering team will train them on the specific equipment and standardized testing that is being performed. Knowledge Requirements: Awareness of ISO17025 and NADCAP accreditation requirements. Knowledge of inventory organization. Understanding of laboratory safety protocols and guidelines. Skills and Experience Requirements: Good ability to multitask, teamwork and schedule management. Required strong written and oral communication skills; problem-solving / troubleshooting skills. Ability to coordinate and communicate with the manufacturing team if necessary. Good attention to detail, critical thinking and time management.
