Our expectations The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing customer data-driven solutions to support the CRM/Loyalty team’s decision-making and data-driven marketing processes. The Data Scientist will play a key role in the evolution of the “known customer strategy” currently being developed. The candidate will have to work closely with members of the CRM/Loyalty team, including the Director and managers. Customer data is increasingly critical in ensuring maximum relevancy to our Pros and customers. The Data Scientist will be responsible for the quality of customer data, whether it is transactional, behavioural, or declarative. Rona will also rely on the Data Scientist to assist the Director and CRM/Loyalty to continue “evangelizing” to the entire Rona organization about the critical importance of deeply understanding customer wants and needs, to drive engagement and loyalty. Your role Contribute to developing a customer data strategy as part of a customer-centric approach. Build and develop a variety of retail-relevant customer segmentation models. Support the CRM/Loyalty team in leading any business analytics and proposed marketing tests. Work very closely with the Data Analysis team based in Bangalore, India. Build customer profile attributes to bring granular, in-depth customer knowledge. Oversee the integration of data science into the Customer Data Platform (to be implemented). Provide support in developing customer-centric KPIs. Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis. Apply data mining and statistical techniques to identify insights. Develop processes for repetitive tasks, such as data extraction, reporting, and standard statistical validation. Work with cross-functional teams to implement models and enhance analytical solutions by providing data-driven recommendations. Create detailed documentation outlining the design and technical specifications of each solution. The qualifications we are looking for Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as statistics or business intelligence. Minimum 3 years’ experience, including 2 or more years as a data scientist or equivalent. Experience processing transactional and behavioural data for the purposes of analytics, including segmentation and predictive models. Experience in data analysis and mining with meticulous attention to detail. Experience with complex and incomplete data. Experience in the field of marketing, within the retail sector and in the implementation of loyalty programs. In-depth knowledge of SQL and Python, an advantage. In-depth knowledge of statistics. Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop. Knowledge of key digital marketing platforms (e.g. customer data (CDP), Google Analytics). Knowledge of analytics applied to marketing, digital marketing, and marketing technology (Martech) ecosystems. Experience with Microsoft business intelligence tools: Power BI, MS-SQL, SSAS, SSIS, U-SQL, Azure ML, Cortana Analytics (an advantage). Knowledge of SAS/SPSS software (an advantage). Proven ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally. Advanced knowledge of Excel.
