Job Description:Accountable for building, maintaining, and evolving the culture and community of Engineers. Responsible for coaching on knowledge, skills, and TD Insurance Life & Health Product Group. Accountable for all Life and Health applications our business is using. Responsible for project delivery, asset hygiene, risk profile management, and production availability of these assets. Exciting time to join the team as we set our roadmap for this product group.PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:Manage cross-functional team of IT professionals to support assigned business clients/internal partners/stakeholder needs and requirements.Responsible for project delivery for the set of applications in their scope, commissioning projects to be executed by Tech PMs.Establish day-to-day management direction and define priorities and strategies consistent with business goals and aligned with overall direction from Technology Leadership team for own area.Communicate business vision/goal and portfolio priorities to team members.Develop impact assessments and manage assigned portfolio delivery schedule.Monitor and manage Capacity Forecasting process compliance among Technology Project Managers.Assess change requests and issues across the portfolio.Manage vendor relationships for own area and ensure timely/accurate communication and resolution of issues.Assist in the assessment of the scope and risk of projects.Work closely with IT leadership to ensure focus on reusability, scalability, and enterprise-wide solutions.SHAREHOLDER:Measure and monitor progress for ongoing projects within the portfolio.Assess work plans and schedule impacts across the portfolio.Comply with enterprise technology delivery practices and standards.Track major project deliverables; communicate updates.Ensure operational, reputational, and intellectual risks are understood.Maintain knowledge of competition, customer/industry trends, and technology innovation.Maintain high level of customer service and ensure commitments are met.Keep informed of technology solutions initiatives and IT direction.Understand business requirements and apply knowledge to prioritize delivery of projects.EMPLOYEE TEAM:Prioritize and manage workload and support workload of team members.Support a positive work environment that promotes service, quality, innovation, and teamwork.Establish and maintain open and effective communication with clients and team members.Contribute to ongoing development of the team and business partners.Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units.Establish effective relationships across multiple business and technology partners.BREADTH & DEPTH:Negotiate technology costs and scope in forecasting.Advanced knowledge of assigned business and bank technology standards.Responsible for managing multiple teams and/or projects with increasing complexity.Manage system enhancements, new releases, or projects.Directly or indirectly manage/lead a group of IT professionals.Orchestrate resolutions, plans, and strategies for operational advancement.Reports to Sr. Manager or Executive role.EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate.Experience acting as a subject matter expert and consultant.Experience with various Web Application Design/Development technologies.Experience with JavaEE frameworks, runtime environments, Web Services Design/Development, Unix shell scripting, Agile delivery methodology, continuous integration, and delivery methodologies, relational DBMS proficiency.Additional experience with big/distributed/non-relational data technologies and integration with vendor products.Who We Are:TD is one of the world's leading global financial institutions.
