Provision Infotech is looking for a Server Administrator/Engineer to join our team
Provision Infotech is a growing provider of Information Technology and Operational Technology services in Western Canada.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, design, implementation, support, configuration, and troubleshooting secure computer environments for multiple clients in various, and sometimes unique, settings.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead data center transformations and business applications projects
- Experience in datacenter design, build, administration and helps us build hybrid cloud based on current Hyper-v, VMware and Azure infrastructure
- Perform planning, coordination and execution of software and hardware installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades
- Mentor and guide junior System Administrators and other team members
- Provide support for current/future servers and systems infrastructure by performing backups, upgrades, troubleshooting, deployment, and administration.
- Perform system administration tasks, software and hardware support, systems configuration, backups, system monitoring, change management, performance tuning, capacity planning and troubleshooting.
- Maintain virtualization solutions (VMware and Hyper-V) and associated SAN (EMC, DELL, Nimble) storage systems
- Manage and optimize the overall infrastructure
- Analyze and diagnose problems and implement fixes that resolve them
- Developing/maintaining an IT/Systems policy for the organization and clients.
- Build and maintain business continuity infrastructure and data recovery capabilities, including system backup validation and administration.
- Design of multi-server virtualization environment including IP address schemes, DNS, DHCP
- Work with vendors for product information, pricing, and support.
- Responsible for defining and documenting system operational procedures develop and maintain technical documentation.
- Design and test new services before implementation for clients.
- Ability to be in the On Call rotation to respond to outages or emergencies in the server environments.
Requirements
- Expert in Windows (Server 2008 through 2019), VMware (v6.5 through v8) and Azure
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS
- Microsoft Certification (MCSE) preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter and ability to take ownership of work.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a small business environment.

- Willingness to learn new technologies
- Willing to work out of our field office location or associated client sites if needed for special projects or deployments. All travel related costs will be covered by the company
Qualifications
- 5 -10 years’ experience working in systems admin/engineer role
- Preference will be given to people worked in a managed service provider environment
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
