The city’s multicultural networks and international connections make the Daniels Faculty a powerful place to start a career. Your opportunity:Under the general direction of the Chief Administrative Officer, you will be responsible for managing research funds and operating accounts at the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design. As well, in this role you will be responsible for promoting and supporting a culture of research through strong financial management. Your responsibilities will include: Monitoring, recording, reconciling and/or reporting on funding accounts for grants and contractsMonitoring department budget to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted allocationsLiaising with internal contacts to resolve restricted fund administration and reporting issuesApplying the University Guide to Financial Management and other applicable policies, agency and regulatory requirementsForecasting, planning and monitoring multiple complex budgetsProducing complex statistical and/or financial reportsKeeping well-informed on changes to policies, procedures, collective agreements, and applicable legislated requirementsServing as a resource to a group or on a function Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum four years' experience in financial management and grant administration in a research setting.Experience preparing, processing, and reconciling payroll.Demonstrated experience preparing and processing expense reimbursements and invoices.Experience with granting agency policies and requirements.Experience forecasting, planning and monitoring multiple complex budgets.Highly-developed computer skills including advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook), webinar systems, SharePoint and ERPs, in particular FIS, HRIS, RIS and Logistics modules.Demonstrated experience preparing complex statistical and/or financial reports.Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with the ability to professionally communicate complex financial procedures to principal investigators, research and administrative staff.Strong analytical and problem solving skills.Excellent time management skills.Assets (Nonessential): Professional accounting designation.Experience with University's systems, including AMS, USource, MROL.Familiarity with the University's financial policies and procedures.To be successful in this role you will be: CommunicatorDiplomaticOrganizedProblem solverProceduralSelf-directed Closing Date: 07/09/2024, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group: USW Appointment Type: Budget - Continuing Schedule: Full-TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:  USW Pay Band 13 -- $83,150 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $106,336.
