We are hiring a Full-time Nutrition Manager responsible for the coordination and operation of a central kitchen supplying food services to long-term care, seniors independent living, community outreach, daycare children, and special events under the roof at West Huron Care Centre.Job Description:Nutrition Manager Full-Time with BenefitsAreas of Responsibility:Member of the organization’s Leadership Team.Facilitate the biannual menu implementation process in consultation with residents and registered dietitian.Ensure the preparation of meals according to the menu, ensuring that all legislative requirements are met for residents, community clients, and daycare children.Oversee and assist with the quality dining experience for residents and seniors independent living.Coordinate the Resident Food Committee and participate on various committees i.e. Quality.Work cooperatively with the registered dietitian to ensure appropriate and necessary nutritional care is provided to each resident and implement nutritional interventions as directed by the registered dietitian.Ensure that all dietary functions are performed in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.Responsible for the hiring, orientation, supervision, scheduling, and training of dietary staff.Budget and manage purchasing specifications including food and dietary equipment and supplies, maintain inventory records, and statistical data.Ensure all Ministry of Long-Term Care and Public Health requirements are met.Contribute to a positive environment that ensures the mission, vision, and values of West Huron Care Centre / Blue Water Rest Home are upheld.Qualifications:Graduate from a recognized Food Service Management ProgramMember in good standing in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or Registered DietitianCurrent provincial Safe Food Handling CertificateMinimum 3 years experience in a Long-Term Care Home, and 2 years management experienceLabour relations experience is an assetExperience with Point Click Care, a computer order system and a dining solution is an assetSkills:Enthusiastic leaderExcellent interpersonal and organizational skillsAbility to speak, read, and write English and to follow oral and written directionsUnderstanding and empathy for the needs of residents, community clients, daycare children and staffWe would like to thank all applicants.
