WE ARE HIRING and looking for an influential and experienced Regional Director of Operations for British Columbia. This role will be based in the lower mainland area of British Columbia. The role reports directly to the Vice President of Operations. What we offer: Competitive salary Comprehensive benefit plan Pension Plan Short Term Incentive Plan (STIP) Car allowance plan Cell phone plan On-site parking Family-like atmosphere Duties and Responsibilities: Provide the Vice President with a consistent stream of industry and market feedback to assist in achieving the goals and objectives of the group Accountable for the transportation activities including daily operational execution, negotiations, forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis Maintain depth and breadth of understanding for the North American markets and provide regular updates to the Executive Leadership Team Establish objectives for the organization, lead the development of strategic initiatives, and formulate or approve policies and programs Develop and lead business development goals and new customer growth Represent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions Provide leadership and oversight for the teams to ensure operational targets are achieved Responsible for operational metrics and reporting, overseeing the budget and managing expenses Responsible for optimization of resources by focusing on productivity, equipment utilization and service excellence Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with internal and external customers and vendors Work and coordinate with internal and external teams/departments, and communicate well with all parties involved Hiring, training, motivating, and performance management including termination of all employees, owner operators and contractors. What you will bring: Minimum 7 years of experience in Transportation, Sales, Distribution or Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related Business area with extensive knowledge of the Transportation industry A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Sales, Business or related field of study is required Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats to various audiences, including Management and outside parties involved in the flow of the business Must possess excellent analytical, negotiation, interpersonal skills, along with strong leadership characteristics Self-starter and results driven with a history of operational and sales success Strong understanding of North American and global freight markets, and a proven ability to aggregate and disseminate key market data Ability to work in and to foster a positive team environment Possess strategic and critical thinking skills, able to adhere to tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with a high skill level with Excel/PowerPoint We are an equal opportunity employer that embraces diversity in the workplace and welcome applications from qualified women, men, visible minorities, aboriginal people and persons with disabilities.
