Position: 2x Speech-Language Pathologist – Speech Team FLEX S-LP  Company: The Speech and Stuttering Institute Type: Independent Contractor Classification: Hybrid – Our current waitlist mostly requires in person treatment.  Option for a partial virtual caseload exists pending waitlist needs. Work Hours: Flexible hours are provided between 7 am to 7 pm. You will provide intervention for children with speech sound disorders, including motor speech disorders. You will focus on in-person services to children and families from assessment through discharge in our clinic. Option for a partial virtual caseload exists pending waitlist needs.  The package includes:  Hourly Rate - $94.25 Continuing Education Flexibility  Ongoing training Collaboration with experienced clinicians  Responsibilities Include:  Contact families from our waitlist to schedule appropriate assessments and/or treatment(s). Assess children referred to the program. Follow proper policies and age-appropriate procedures to determine the recommended care plan  Provide effective evidence-informed speech intervention that addresses a client’s speech development. Consideration for their developmental level, motor speech development, language level, and executive control abilities is required Provide parent/caregivers with information and coaching to help them understand their child’s speech, language, communication, strengths, and needs. Provide parents with activities and strategies to support the practice and carryover of skills acquired within the treatment session  What Makes You the Ideal Candidate?  Strong clinical skills and familiarity with assessment, identification and the range of approaches used in speech intervention Participation in the Preschool Motor Speech Pathway Training (101 and 201) and/or Motor Speech Treatment Protocol e-learning course  Continuing education in the assessment and treatment of speech sound disorders, including motor speech disorders/apraxia of speech (please specify in your application)  Commitment to developing clinical skills and expertise for serving children with speech disorders  Ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner Outstanding verbal, written, interpersonal, and analytical skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams  Ability to learn and use SSI’s practice management/client scheduling system  Attendance at monthly SSI staff meetings and speech program team meetings  Superior organizational and time management skills with outstanding ability to attend to details and meet tight deadlines Tact and diplomacy in interactions with families, children, team members, and other stakeholders Mandatory Requirements:  Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Speech-Language Pathology  General certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).    Commitment to complying with the Regulated Health Act and all CASLPO regulations, standards, and guidelines  Minimum three years of clinical experience in the assessment and management of preschool and/or school-age children with speech sound disorders, including motor speech disorders  Completion of a successful Police Vulnerable Sector Check is mandatory   Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at the Speech Stuttering Institute  The Speech Stuttering Institute is committed to building, maintaining, and fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
