Job Summary Job Title: General Adult Psychiatrist - Powell River Work Site: qathet General Hospital Status: Locum Start Date: July 01, 2024 Compensation Type: Combination Come work as a Psychiatrist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)! Join our mental health team on the beautiful Sunshine Coast! This is a hospital-based position in Powell River, BC, where two full-time adult psychiatrists will serve diverse mental health and addiction needs. Part-time applicants are welcome. Combination of outpatient and inpatient (7-bed psychiatric unit). No overhead. No call. There is an opportunity to choose between solely inpatient or outpatient work. Comprehensive allied health care supports on-site, including ACT, ICMT, counseling, and close collaborative care with family physicians, nurse practitioners and specialists. ECT provided on site. Qualifications Education, Licensing, & Experience : Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC)- Provisional/Mandatory Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)- Mandatory Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)- Mandatory Closing Statement The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check. As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
