Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to understand project requirements thoroughly.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and create precise cost estimates for electrical projects, covering materials, labor, and equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to establish project budgets and timelines.
- Identify potential risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures during the estimation process.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including scope of work, cost breakdowns, and schedules.
- Participate in bid meetings and negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
- Maintain an updated database of material, equipment, and labor pricing.
- Stay informed about industry trends, code changes, regulations, and pricing fluctuations.
- Offer guidance and mentorship to junior estimators when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of electrical systems, codes, and industry best practices.
- Display proficiency in using estimating software and related tools.
- Exhibit excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Show meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
- Possess strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to multitask and effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred.
