Position Summary Under the supervision of the VP Operations, the Global Production & Purchasing Director role involves managing operations and workflows of the production processes to maintain high quality and ensure timely delivery. The Director oversees the manufacturing of our garments from beginning to end and is responsible for the fabric and trimmings purchasing team, the team in charge of fabric cutting and the team coordinating production (Cut & Sew) by our external contractors in our different production hubs (Canada, Bulgaria…). Key Accountabilities Production Oversight of all manufacturing operations ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met for finished goods. Provide strategic direction and leadership to deliver products on time and on budget as dictated by demand planning and Sales. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor manufacturing performance in the areas of cost, quality, efficiency, production capacity and on time delivery. Manufacture the right product, in the right quantity, at the right time at the agreed acceptable quality level and at the best cost possible thus achieving a high service level to provided forecasted demand. Maximize performance & profitability against pre-agreed targets. Manage existing manufacturing capacity in Canada and Bulgaria, optimize existing capacity utilization, and develop new capacity to meet growing need. Develop and maintain true partnership with our local contractors and service providers with the objective of building long lasting win-win relationship throughout our entire supply chain network in all countries. Champion our Operations optimization initiatives: Speed to Market, Essentials, SMART manufacturing, COGS reduction program Manage and monitor the overall performance of production contractors for efficiency and costs. Liaison, support, and assistance between all departments involved in production (Planning, Design, Sales ...) Purchasing Assume overall leadership of our purchasing function, overseeing strategic direction and day-to-day activities, including managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of fabric, trims, and non-stock items. Direct, plan, and supervise the purchase, receipt, storage, and distribution of fabric and trims. Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. Maximising stock turns to reduce overall inventory. Manage supplier relationships and negotiate to ensure favorable terms and pricing. Ensure coordination of purchasing activities to support the demand plan of the various seasons. Support the process to monitor supplier performance and take corrective action when necessary. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to purchasing activities. Manage and mentor purchasing staff and provide leadership and guidance to ensure high performance and productivity. Required qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or related field. 5+ years of experience as a Production Director in the manufacturing sector Experience in consumer goods manufacturing required. Experience in garment manufacturing a definite asset Proven leadership skills and ability to mobilize people and influence decisions. Strategic thinker Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change quickly. Bilingual with excellent communication skills Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Business Intelligence software Lean six sigma or equivalent certification in manufacturing Proficiency in the use of manufacturing software systems for production planning and monitoring (ERP) – Knowledge of D365 an asset Ability to establish and effectively manage a production budget across various countries Travel in Bulgaria one or 2 times per year
