Experienced Seafood Procurement & In-bound Logistics Dispatch

Must have prior relatable experienceReview the inventory at the close of each business day to assess the levels of products that the buyer is responsible for procuringObtain/discuss purchase requirements from/with sales reps on an ongoing basis;Call all known procurement sources (suppliers) and determine what they have available.Engage in ongoing discussions with the sales representative and, based on those conversations, along with inventory levels, past seasonal buying patterns, and pricing, determine the purchase volumes for various products (SKUs) from each supplier.Obtain driver assignment and trucking information required for the return to Canada from Fleet Manager or his assistant.Work with Fleet Manager, his assistant, or driver(s) to determine when South-bound freight has been delivered and the driver is ready to commence receiving North-bound seafood freight.Work with Fresh Sales and other Procurement team members to determine trucks and product that should returnProvide lead driver for each trip with a list of the pick-ups that they are responsible for. Arrange for trucks to meet and cross dock items scheduled for the early trucks’ return to Canada.Send Custom Invoices for North-bound trucks to CBSA for truck clearance prior to the arrival of trucks at the borderSend ACI Manifest to CBSA and drivers.Be prepared to complete any other tasks assigned by management from time to time.Culture:· Entrepreneurial, non-corporate environment;· Fast pace, self-starter/initiator environment· High expectations, numerous opportunities for leadership and growthBehavioural Competencies:· Ability to handle complexity and ambiguity· Self-motivated and ability for work independently· Ability to build strong relationships at all levels
