Our client, a leading provider of agricultural products and services, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support its capital program and to lead and oversee various projects within the Allan underground potash mine. This role is critical in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.The client is seeking contractors for this opportunity. About the Allan Mine: The Allan underground potash mine is a conventional mining operation located approximately 45 kilometers east of Saskatoon, near the town of Allan, Saskatchewan. The mine utilizes continuous mining machines to excavate potash ore using the stress-relief mining method. The ore is then transported via conveyor belts to the surface for processing using both flotation and crystallization methods to produce various grades of potash products. The mine has an annual nameplate capacity of 4.0 million tonnes of finished product.Key Responsibilities:• Project Planning and Execution:o Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.o Oversee all phases of project life cycle, from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with business objectives.o Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.• Team Leadership and Collaboration:o Lead and manage project teams, providing direction, support, and mentorship.o Foster a collaborative environment, promoting open communication and teamwork.o Liaise with engineering, operations, procurement, and other departments to facilitate project success.• Risk Management:o Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.o Monitor and control project risks, making adjustments as necessary to ensure project objectives are met.• Budget and Resource Management:o Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.o Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.o Track project expenses and provide regular financial reports to senior management.• Quality and Compliance:o Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company’s policies.o Implement quality assurance processes to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.• Reporting and Documentation:o Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and project logs.o Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and successes.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the mining or heavy industrial sectors.• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects.• PMP certification or equivalent is an asset.• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.• Proficiency in project management software and tools.Working Conditions:• Primarily based at the Allan mine site near Allan, Saskatchewan.• Combination of office work and on-site project management, including underground and surface facilities.• Must adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
