EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY - Life Skills Teacher

Frog Lake Education Authority of Frog Lake First Nations, a Cree community in Northeastern Alberta, runs three

schools accredited in the Province of Alberta. We are requiring a Life Skills Teacher for tustukeeskaws Jr/Sr high

school to start Monday, August 26, 2024.

The successful candidates will have

• The ability to work with a variety of stakeholders; e.g., students, parents, administration, • Knowledge of the

Alberta Education Act and the Alberta Program of Studies • Understanding of local culture and traditions

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Willingness to advocate and participate in outdoor activities

• Demonstrate healthy living by example

Successful applicants will possess:

? Bachelors of Education Degree

? Hold a valid Alberta Interim Professional Teaching Certificate or Alberta Permanent Professional Teaching

Certificate

? Knowledge and understanding of leveled literacy programs and shared reading ? Knowledge and

understanding of how to engage in relationships at the individual, familial and community levels

? Proficient with Google Workspace

? Excellent computer skills would be considered an asset.

? Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills

? Pass a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

Wages to be determined by Teachers Salary Grid
