We currently have two casual opportunities available for Medical Radiation Technologists (MRT) to join our Teams. Hours of Work: DAYS, EVENINGS, NIGHTS, WEEKENDS INCLUDING STAT HOLIDAYS How Medical Radiation Technologist supports our teams at Grand River Hospital: The Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) is a regulated health professional working under indirect supervision performing various diagnostic imaging procedures. The MRT uses their extensive knowledge, skill, and judgement in the principles of anatomy, physiology, and pathology, as well as imaging acquisition to provide high-quality care to their patients. MRTs with Grand River Hospital act as mentors and preceptors to medical imaging students from several accredited programs. MRTs with Grand River Hospital may support several modalities based on their knowledge and skills. Must be able to demonstrate effective problem-solving skills while participating in a team-building environment. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. At Grand River Hospital, our Medical Radiation Technologist: Active member in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists (Ontario) mandatory. Demonstrated commitment to best practice, current standards of practice, and life-long learning. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team, strong interpersonal and communication skills in a challenging fast-paced environment. Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues, and physicians. Proven knowledge of ALARA and the principles of radiation safety to act as a resource to fellow technologists and all members of the health care team. C.P.R. certification an asset. Previous experience as an X-ray technologist in a similar environment an asset. Good attendance record.
