AltaGas - Analyst, Energy Exports

Our Energy Exports team is looking for an Analyst to join the group. Reporting to the Director, Energy Exports, you will be joining a commercial team that is focused on the waterborne movements of LPG from the West Coast of North America to Asia. The Energy Exports team provides value to customers and collaborates with a wide variety of stakeholders both internal and external. 

You will:

• Work closely with all key stakeholders (e.g. export terminals, traders, commercial team, and operations) to ensure commercial commitments are met
• Support/provide backup for all aspects of marine logistics/scheduling from loadport to discharge port
• Monitor/report/forecast terminal inventory and product flows
• Schedule product flows and intercompany movements within internal reporting system
• Assist traders in contract execution and steward contract tracking
• Manage tracking of commercial information and data
• Ensure contractual obligations including nomination procedures are met/followed and identify discrepancies
• Effectively communicate and work with various third parties (e.g. refineries, customers, agents, brokers, terminal representatives, inspectors)
• Provide information required for management decision-making
• Develop and maintain economic models for projects and decision making
• Support accounting in review of all revenues/costs for energy exports business
• Provide support in reviewing and tracking all marine costs including freight and demurrage
• Build and strengthen relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

You have:

• Relevant degree in Commerce, Economics, Supply Chain, Finance, or Engineering
• 1-3 years Energy Industry experience
• Rail/scheduling knowledge an asset
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (including financial modeling), Word, Outlook
• Experience with Allegro ETRM would be an asset
• Meticulous attention to detail, proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet critical deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Superior oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Motivated individual able to contribute both individually and as a team player with multiple priorities and tasks in a face paced environment
