Program Director – X 92.9 FM

This is the top programming role for X92.9, one of Canada’s leading alternative stations located in the fast-growing and dynamic Calgary, Alberta. Our new Program Director must be self-driven, have a strong strategic vision, possess exceptional leadership skills, and be passionate about creating engaging radio content.

X92.9 is the flagship radio station of Harvard Media, a broadcast and digital media company in Western Canada with a rich history of building community platforms. The perfect candidate for this role will play a pivotal role in programming leadership across our entire footprint.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Enhance the overall brand and sound of the station.
  
• Demonstrated experience with multiple strategies designed to build audience and engagement, including broadcast, streaming, social media, etc.
  
• Develop and grow a great and creative on-air staff.
  
• Responsible for adhering to CRTC and CBSC rules and regulations.
  
• Work closely with sales to develop sales-oriented promotions.
  
• Work with our experiences and marketing team to develop outstanding audience-building promotions and initiatives.
  

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong Experience in Alternative Rock.
  
• Experience with PPM Markets.
  
• A minimum of five years of increasing responsibility and success.
  
• Extensive experience managing and coaching to excellence.
  
• Promotionally aggressive and not afraid to take risks.
  
• Exceptional team player with a great attitude.
  
• Must be a multi-tasker with excellent organizational skills.
  
• Understanding of social media usage, analytics, and digital platforms essential.
  
• Knowledge of Music Master, Wide Orbit, Futuri preferred.
  

Essential Requirements:

• Must be self-motivated.
  
• Creative and outside the box thinker.
  
• Must understand responsible, effective use of social media.
  
• Must have a valid driver's license and provide a current drivers abstract.

Standard Work Schedule:
