Assistant Kitchen Team Lead - Bower Place

The Asst. Kitchen Team Lead assists in overseeing kitchen operations and the kitchen Team Members for the overall preparation, production and presentation of high quality meals and food products at Sunterra Market. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to customer service, natural leadership abilities, a solid work ethic and a passion for food. The applicant will be an effective and confident communicator, and lead by example while also understanding their role as both supervisor and mentor. Duties and Responsibilities: Plan and direct food preparation and cookingPlan and direct Catering ProductionEnsure the use of all preparation and sanitary charts and methodsConsult with clients regarding catering ordersPlan menus and ensure food meets quality standardsPlan and execute public cooking classesFollow established Sunterra guidelines of Pars and Order Guides order product accordinglyTrain kitchen Team Members and cooks in the kitchen and deli Qualifications: The position requires an individual with proven team management skills, excellent multi-tasking and task management skills, superior customer service skills, organizational and time management skills, and the ability to continually drive the business forward. Specifically the ideal applicant possess the following qualifications and attributes:A minimum of 3 years previous supervisory experience in a commercial kitchen is preferredMust be self-motivated and solution-orientedAbility to maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers.Good communicator and motivator; able to work well with others and convey enthusiasm.Love and knowledge of food.Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department.Post secondary qualifications preferredWHIMS and Food Safety certification requirement (Sunterra will provide online training)
