As the Supervisor, Resource Management you will provide leadership to four dedicated administrative professionals with the Resource Management office. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the business area and fostering a positive work environment. The candidate will also lead analytic projects and provide business intelligence to improve business efficiency and effectiveness for the Edmonton Transit Service (ETS). 

What will you do:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to staff to foster a positive and productive work environment
  • Create performance goals collaboratively with the staff, provide constructive feedback, and conduct regular performance evaluations to facilitate professional growth and development
  • Represent the Branch in corporate initiatives such as Enterprise Commons to facilitate business process improvements and change management exercises
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationship with the stakeholders including Operations, IT and other business partners to implement business process improvements and foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Lead, establish and exemplify the desired culture throughout the work group, that supports the City Operations Vision, Mission and Cultural Commitments
  • Analyze, organize and conduct primary and secondary research including environmental scans used by all business development groups to identify best practices and potential business improvement opportunities for Business Integration and Workforce Development
  • Lead the annual vacation signup for more than 1,700 Operators, manage unused vacation, run vacation audits and reconcile discrepancies
  • Collaborate with other analysts in ETS to integrate and advanced analytics in the branch
  • Design, develop, implement and sustain an analytics portfolio based on achieving ETS business outcomes
  • Synthesize and analyze large, complex data sets to produce readable reports with actionable recommendations
  • Develop and sustain analytical framework and platforms that will assist ETS in achieving its business outcomes
  • Sourcing best practices and industry leading business analytics methods, models and applications to ensure ETS is current and working with state-of-the-art analytics portfolio including platform
  • Analyze, organize and conduct primary and secondary research including environmental scans for Workforce Support and Development
Qualifications

Qualifications :

  • University degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum of four (4) years experience in analyzing and synthesizing complex data sets and producing highly readable, informative reports for a variety of audiences, including non-technical users
  • Demonstrated Supervisory experience including training in related leadership courses
  • Experience in providing leadership, coaching, and guidance to staff regarding day to day operations

Assets:

  • Experience working within Transit or a Transportation industry
  • Experience working in operations or operations support

Skills Required for Success:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to delegate and empower others, work collaboratively, and develop strong working relationships with all levels of staff 
  • Demonstrated skills in researching, analyzing and synthesizing complex quantitative data in an accurate and reliable manner, including using this data to create business reports, presentations, and recommendations
  • Demonstrated expertise in coordinating cross-organizational business processes and project management skills
  • Advanced computer skills including statistical modeling and analytics tools, data visualization and database technologies
  • Experience with analytical and database software, including Excel, Access, Crystal Reports, statistical analysis and business functional systems (e.g. ETDS, TOPS, PeopleSoft, ETS Parking, Crystal Reports, Adobe LiveCycle Designer, G-Suite etc) and other presentation software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation, communication and report writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage many priorities and tasks with competing deadlines
  • Well-developed interpersonal and collaboration skills, including ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships

Work Environments:

  • Note : This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52
  • The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Salary: $46.086 - $58.232 (Hourly); $96,227.570 - $121,588.420 (Annually)
