We promote audit quality through proactive regulation, robust audit assessments, dialogue with domestic and international stakeholders, and practicable insights that inform capital market participants and contribute to public confidence in the integrity of financial reporting.We do important work, and we need remarkable people on our team!We are looking for a Communications Leader to join our team!Who are we looking for?The Communications Leader plays a strategic role in developing external and internal communications programs including regulatory communications and disclosures, external presentations, media relations, and employee communications. As a member of the leadership team reporting to the Vice President, External Outreach, you are a subject matter expert in communications best practices and an advisor to the Chief Executive Officer. You are recognized as a leader in your profession – you want to make an impact. Naturally curious and adaptable, you are an early adopter and a champion of new areas in your field of expertise, and a strategic leader who inspires colleagues to achieve their very best.Position SummaryIn your role, you will lead all external communication initiatives, advise CPAB’s senior leadership, and anticipate and expertly handle current and emerging issues that affect the organization’s reputation. You will develop and communicate a clear, consistent message for the organization. Creating and distributing meaningful and impactful content to a sophisticated audience, including business leaders and decision makers, is key to success in this role.Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s degree, ideally in English, communications, journalism, or public relations.15+ years of communications leadership experience and a proven record of developing and executing comprehensive communications strategies.Previous hands-on media relations experience.Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.Extensive experience with content development and editing technical copy and managing the production process for publications.Strong understanding of capital markets.Experience in a regulatory environment and a strong understanding of regulatory voice is highly desirable.Experienced as communications lead for issue management and organizational crises.Background in boardroom communications.Previous experience in coaching others.Government relations or public affairs experience is considered an asset.Familiarity with the audit sector and ability to grasp complex audit profession issues is preferred.Ability to operate in French would be an asset.Leadership AttributesCollaborative, adaptable, flexible, and inclusive.Outstanding interpersonal skills and self-driven.High emotional intelligence and ability to deal with ambiguity with ease.Proven track record of building strong external and internal networks.Naturally curious, innovative, and enjoys leading change.Persuasive and thoughtful.LocationWe welcome candidates from all provinces where CPAB has operations to apply: Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, and Alberta.What’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, continuously learn and grow, and to work together to contribute to the public confidence in the integrity of financial reporting.
