You’ll provide vital logistical and technical support, from handling drill core activities and data, to managing equipment and ensuring quality control. What you’ll accomplish: Participates and assists with the conception and development of exploration programs and budgets (P&B) Conducts and supervises exploration programs in accordance with the approved P&B: Supervises geophysical technicians, geophysicists, contract geophysicists and students (if applicable): organizes, distributes and prioritizes tasks for an efficient and successful geophysical program Liaises with the Exploration staff to ensure that contracts are properly tendered in a timely manner, in accordance with Orano’s policies and procedures Ensures permits and/or work authorizations have been received and properly distributed before field work commences Acts as Contract Administrator as required Maintains positive working relationships with local communities on assigned project(s) Responsible for the quality, pertinence, accuracy and completeness of the data related to the project(s) Conducts regular field visits to ensure contractor work meets contract agreements and performs audits of contractor invoices Coordinates in-house crews to conduct geophysical surveys, supervising these surveys in the field Collects and interprets field and research data to produce maps, sections, tables, etc. Ensures all necessary documents (geoscience, SHEQ) are prepared on time and presented to Exploration staff and the Vice President, Exploration Shares written and verbal updates on P&B, including results and interpretations Develops a comprehensive understanding of the projects managed and the surrounding regional area Keeps Orano’s geophysical expertise strong by staying updated on exploration geophysics Contributes to internal R&D initiatives focused on improvement of geophysical processing applications and workflows Our Full-Time Benefits A customized onboarding experience upon your arrival A welcoming environment and great coworkers A competitive salary and benefits package Training and Development opportunities throughout your career Fitness equipment available for use on work/camp premises All of the advantages of a large group while maintaining the dynamics of a smaller company: career advancement opportunities, social committee, interesting projects, and opportunities to get involved in our strong commitments to communities. Ideal qualifications Qualities and skills we’re seeking: University graduate in geophysics (and geology preferred) at a Bachelor’s (B.Sc.) or Master's level (M.Sc.), with a minimum of 5 years’ mineral exploration experience Registered as a Professional Geoscientist or Engineer with APEGS Excellent computer skills Understanding of the geology of uranium prospects and deposits Able to deliver verbal presentations to audiences of any size Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to work as part of a team Good decision-making abilities Discovery oriented and motivated Able to provide mentorship and learning opportunities to peers Work Location & Schedule: Saskatoon Corporate Office – 40 hours/week Occasional travel to various project locations in the field (Approx. 10%) This position is subject to pre-employment checks including education and criminal record verification.
