Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Specialist will be a valuable resource, working on the full accounting cycle for ALL holding companies. This is an exceptional opportunity for a well-rounded intermediate level Accounting professional, looking to further develop in role and make a significant contribution.What You Will Do:Review monthly GL reconciliation including all major balance sheet accounts (A/R, A/P, fixed assets, prepaids)Prepare weekly bank ReconciliationPrepare, direct and coordinate Company financial reportingPrepare draft financial statementsReview expense coding for employee reimbursements, utilities, and direct bill paymentsReviews report and expensesReviews monthly sales tax returns (GST, PST)Completes assigned year end working papersManage financial audit and provide information for and assistant to external auditorOther duties and responsibilities as assigned What Will You Bring:University degree preferably in Business/Accounting3+ years of financial close and reporting experienceStrong knowledge of finance and accounting including GAAPExperience with automated financial and accounting reporting systemsProven ability to meet tight deadlines and adaptable to changing prioritiesEfficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and AccessStrong analytical and problem solving skillsGreat attention to detailEffective communication skillsWhat Can We Offer:Competitive compensation package$60,000 - $70,000 per yearGroup Benefit Plan + HCSA + EAP + RRSPHybrid work environment – 1 day per week work from homeOn-site parkingDevelopmental & mentorship opportunitiesJoin UsIf this role resonates with you & you possess a minimum of 70% of the qualifications we are looking for, express your interest now.We welcome candidates with a range of backgrounds and experiences and are committed to providing accessible employment practices.
