Position Summary – Analytical/ Bioanalytical Scientist

We are seeking a talented and motivated analytical chemist with significant experience in bioanalytical method development to join our dynamic research team. The successful candidate will play a key role within the Technology Development team to advance our nucleic acid delivery platforms and enable diverse endeavors with our collaborators. This position will report to the Senior Director, Chemistry.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, optimize, and validate analytical (HPLC, LC/MS) methods for quantitative analysis of lipid nanoparticles and their components.
  • Conduct, support and develop bioanalytical studies to profile the biological fate of individual lipid components and support ongoing SAR activities.
  • Develop, optimize and evaluate methods to purify diverse and challenging test articles including but not limited to peptides, ionizable lipids, PEG lipids, using normal and reverse phase purification techniques.
  • Conduct Quality Control assessments in support of internal and partner in vivo studies.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemists, biologists, and formulation scientists.
  • Generate high quality scientific data, documentation, and reports for internal research and development, patent applications and peer reviewed publications.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, methodologies, and industry trends and contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory workflows and capabilities.
  • Perform other activities related to the function as assigned by manager.

Requirements, Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field is preferred. Candidates without advanced degrees but with exemplary experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO industries will be considered.
  • Expertise in quantitative analytical techniques including LC-MS/MS, HPLC with a strong understanding of assay principles, instrumentation, and data analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present scientific findings to internal and external stakeholders.

The Canadian base salary range for this position is $77,500 – $116,000, excluding performance bonus and benefits. The base salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, education, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The actual salary offered may be higher or lower than the posted range, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and other factors.
